Start Your Own Free Period Pantry
Building a free period pantry is a great way to help out your community!
It is a good idea for a girl scout silver or gold award, or for any service project. Here's how:
Step 1
Find a location in your community to establish your pantry
Step 2
Gather your materials. Here is a general list of materials you will need.
- Plywood (pressure treated plywood is better for weather resistance)
- Drill
- Self closing Hinges
- Wood glue
- Concrete mix
- Plexiglass
- Solid lumber for post
- Post hole digger
- Level
- Carpenter square
- Screws
- Miter saw(power or hand)
- Table saw or hand held circular saw
Materials can usually be found at Lowes or Home Depot.
Step 3: Build your Pantry

Step 4: Establish your Pantry
You will need to mount a post in the location you want your pantry to be, or set up the structure of your pantry.
